Are there any special requirements to participate in this tour?

You will be required to sign two liability releases - one for 907 Tours, one for Dream Big Kennel. Parents of children under 18 will be required to complete a waiver for their child.

How long is the trip to the kennel?

Drive time to the glacier is 1.5 to 2 hours. We'll make a quick rest stop about half way there.

​

Will there be a lunch stop?

After your dog sled experience we will stop at a nearby rustic Alaskan lodge where you can purchase a variety of lunch and dessert items. Lunch is not included in the tour price.

How difficult is the dog sled ride?

This tour is suitable for children 8 years and older, and most adults. Be advised that the dog sled ride can be bumpy, so guests with chronic back pain or other issues should exercise caution.

 

What's the weather like? What should I wear? 

Winter temperatures can range from 0 to 35 degrees F (-17 to 2 degrees C). Dress in layers. At minimum, a warm base layer plus snow pants, as well as warm socks and boots on the bottom; a warm base layer, long sleeve layer and cold weather jacket are recommended. Always bring more layers than fewer. Remember a hat and gloves. There is plenty of room for back packs and you can always leave things in the van.

What kind of shoes should I wear?

We recommend warm boots for maximum comfort. The ground around the kennel can be icy and snowy, so footwear with good traction is recommended.

Is there are age requirement for the dog sled ride?

Children must be 8 years of age to participate. A parent or guardian will need to sign the child’s liability release.
